FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What makes Scents of the Northwest candles different?
Our candles are made with clean-burning ingredients and true-to-life scents inspired by the Northwest. We avoid harsh chemicals and artificial-smelling fragrances so every candle is safe to enjoy and smells exactly as it’s named.
2. What kind of wax do you use?
We use apricot creme wax, which burns cleaner, lasts longer, and is more eco-friendly than traditional paraffin or soy.
3. Are your candles safe for pets and children?
Yes—our candles are made without harmful additives or toxins. While we always recommend burning candles responsibly, our clean ingredients are safer for homes with little ones and furry friends.
4. How long do your candles burn?
Our candles are designed to burn slowly and evenly. A standard 8.5oz candle lasts approximately 65 hrs depending on care and environment.
5. Where do your scent inspirations come from?
Each fragrance is inspired by the natural beauty of the Northwest—rainy forests, fresh mountain air, earthy trails, and cozy seasonal moments.
6. Do you offer custom or bulk orders?
Yes! Whether you’re looking for wedding favors, corporate gifts, or a custom scent, we’d love to create something special for you.
7. How should I care for my candle for the best burn?
Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use, let the wax melt fully across the top on the first burn, and keep away from drafts for an even, long-lasting burn.
8. Do you ship outside the Northwest?
Yes—we ship nationwide so you can bring a piece of the Northwest to your home, no matter where you live. However, we do not ship internationally, but hope to do so in the future!
9. Are your products eco-friendly?
We focus on sustainable practices by using clean ingredients, reusable jars, and recyclable packaging whenever possible.
10. How did Scents of the Northwest begin?
Founded in 2017, the company was born from a love of the Northwest and a desire to create candles that smell exactly like their name—without the harsh chemical undertones found in many mass-produced candles.
